Watch a BrainPOP Movie
Choose our Camouflage movie on BrainPOP, or our Camouflage movie on BrainPOP Jr. for K-3 learners.
Tip: Ask Questions
Try using active viewing strategies when watching BrainPOP movies with your kids to help them build more comprehension. During or after watching the movies, try asking questions like:
What kinds of animals change color?
Are there any animals around us like this?
Dress Up, Blend In
Animals in the wild don’t get to choose their camouflage, but your kids can! Help them imagine the different ways they can create their own camouflage. Then, why not make it a fashion show? Use these prompts:
- What would you wear to blend in with a wall, room, or corner of our home?
- What could you wear to scare away predators in the wild?
- What would you wear to match with the different seasons?
Tip: Make Adjustments
To make this activity just right for your learner, encourage them to look through their clothes and find different colors and patterns to use.
Or, prompt them to think about non-clothing objects (like lamp shades, pillows, or blankets) to add different materials, shapes, and textures!
